This set controls how deep a drill can penetrate. Each anodised cylinder is a mechanical depth stop that fixes the exposed working length of the drill at a set value — 6.0, 7.5, 9.0, 10.5 or 12.0 mm — so the osteotomy cannot be taken beyond the planned depth regardless of hand pressure or visibility. The stop seats against the crest of the ridge and physically arrests the drill, which matters most in the posterior mandible near the inferior alveolar canal and in the maxilla approaching the sinus floor, where over-penetration is the complication that has to be avoided rather than corrected. The kit is laid out in two rows of five. The back row holds the assembled units with the drill mounted through the stop and the cutting flute exposed at its working length; the front row holds the stop bodies alone, so the clinician can see the depth marking on each and swap between depths as the plan requires. Every stop is anodised in a distinct colour and laser-marked with its depth on the top face and the side wall, with the same figure engraved into the tray beneath its position. Colour-coding this way means the correct depth is picked by sight rather than by measurement mid-procedure.
