From the manufacturer
This kit harvests the patient's own bone for grafting, which remains the reference material for augmenting a deficient ridge. The four collector drills work as rotary scrapers: the open slotted flute shaves particulate from cortical bone and retains it inside the hollow body, so the graft accumulates within the instrument rather than being lost to suction. Four working diameters — Ø3.0, Ø3.5, Ø4.1 and Ø5.2 mm — let the surgeon match the collector to the donor site, and all four are dark-coated to hold the cutting edge through repeated harvesting and limit frictional heat, which matters here more than in ordinary drilling because overheating destroys the osteogenic cells that make autogenous graft worth taking. What separates this kit from the plain collector set is the stopper row. Four blue anodised depth stoppers at L4, L6, L8 and L10 slide over the collector body and fix how deep it can cut, so the surgeon can take a controlled volume of bone from a site with limited thickness — a donor area over the mandibular canal, or bone adjacent to an osteotomy — without risking penetration beyond the safe depth. A Ø3 mm trephine sits in its own labelled position for coring a solid cylindrical graft rather than particulate. The tray is a compact white autoclavable block engraved "Bone Collector Kit" with sections marked Drills, Stoppers and Trephine, a clear hinged perforated lid, and the Artifol Enterprises logo on the front face.
