Trephines are hollow cylindrical burs that cut a circular groove and leave a solid core of bone standing inside the tube. That single property gives them three distinct uses in implant practice: harvesting a cylindrical autogenous bone graft from a donor site, coring around and retrieving a failed or fractured implant with minimal collateral bone loss, and taking a bone biopsy. The serrated cutting edge shown here engages cortical bone cleanly at low speed, and the open side windows let the surgeon see how far the core has advanced and flush debris out of the tube rather than letting it pack solid. The kit is laid out as four diameters in two rows — Ø3, Ø5, Ø7 and Ø9 mm — with a short and a long version of each, giving eight burs in total. The longer versions reach deeper donor sites or fully encircle a longer fixture; the short ones work in restricted posterior access. The burs carry a heat-tinted blue finish over the working length, with depth reference grooves along the tube wall and the diameter engraved on the tray beneath each pair. All eight sit on blue silicone stoppers in a white autoclavable block with a clear hinged perforated lid, and the tray face carries the sterilisation limit — do not exceed 134 °C — printed directly under the product name.
