This is the instrument used to seat and tighten implant components to a defined torque value — abutment screws, multi-unit abutments, healing caps, and for measuring insertion torque during implant placement. It works on the beam principle: the sliding torque indicator runs along a graduated scale on the arm, and the operator sets the required value before applying force, so the reading is mechanical and needs no battery or calibration electronics. The head is a bidirectional ratchet, switchable between tightening and loosening by flipping the direction lever, which lets the same instrument retrieve a component as well as place it. The arrow-marked collar behind the head indicates the working direction at a glance. The body dismantles into its component parts without tools, so the internal mechanism can be cleaned and lubricated properly rather than trapping debris — the main hygiene weakness of sealed torque wrenches.
