Unlike the beam-type wrenches elsewhere in this range, this one works on a calibrated spring: the exposed coil along the handle compresses as force is applied and the graduated barrel is set to the required value before tightening, so the operator turns until the mechanism releases rather than watching a sliding indicator. The advantage in practice is that the release point can be felt, not read, which keeps the clinician's eyes on the field. The head takes a 4 mm hex drive, the most widely adopted universal connection size, so it accepts drivers and adapters from most implant systems rather than being tied to one manufacturer. It is bidirectional and marked IN/OUT on the head, switchable between tightening and loosening, which lets the same instrument retrieve a component as well as seat it.
