Ligature Forming Plier, 6 mm, 12.5 cm — Orthodontic — Loop Forming & Ligature Pliers

Tying individual ligature wires one at a time is slow, and hand-formed loops come out at inconsistent heights. This plier preforms them: the notched beaks fold each ligature to a fixed 6 mm height in one squeeze, so a batch can be prepared in advance and each one seats the same way at the bracket. The forming beak carries a tungsten carbide insert rather than plain steel, because a plier used repetitively on the same small area wears at that point first — the insert is what keeps the 6 mm dimension true over a long service life. It is the only instrument on G-17 whose catalogue text names the carbide insert explicitly.
