The Accuram 1512-90 is a Beebee scissor from the Surgical Scissors range, supplied straight with a saw edge at an overall length of 11 cm. The blades are short and broad relative to the shanks, coming to a narrow bevelled point. One blade carries a fine saw-edge serration along its full cutting length; the opposing blade is plain and hollow-ground. The serration holds the workpiece against the cut instead of letting it slide forward along the blade, which is what allows a short blade to bite on hard, thin material. The two halves close on a flush slotted screw pivot, adjustable for blade tension rather than riveted. The instrument is one-piece stainless steel throughout, with equal round finger rings and long slim shanks running to the pivot. The long-handle, short-blade proportion converts hand travel into cutting force at the tip. The finish is a brushed satin. The shank carries the Accuram Instruments name, the CE mark and the reference 1512-90. The Beebee family is offered in four stainless references and four with tungsten carbide cutting edges, the T suffix denoting carbide.
