The Accuram 1111-20 is a double-ended diagnostic explorer supplied under the # D5 pattern designation. It belongs to the Diagnostic section of the Accuram range, where explorers are indicated for detecting and exploring caries, abrasions, calculus, pocket characteristics, furcation and restorations. Both working ends are formed from fine, tapered wire and terminate in sharp points, giving the clinician tactile feedback on tooth surfaces and restoration margins. The two ends carry different curvatures, so a single instrument covers more than one access angle without the operator changing instruments mid-examination. The instrument uses Accuram's standard one-piece knurled handle. Banded knurling across the grip zones provides a non-slip hold, and the tapered profile balances the instrument toward the centre. As with all instruments in the range, the handle is laser-marked with the manufacturer name, CE mark and product reference for traceability. Accuram manufactures to German manufacturing techniques, with technical AutoCAD drawings and Go/No-Go gauges produced on CNC machines used throughout the production cycle to hold minimal tolerances to DIN norms. All instruments pass a boil test and a special surface treatment process to produce a smooth, clean, homogeneous surface that maximises the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Each lot is supplied with a Q.C certificate bearing a unique ID, traceable from forging to packaging for five years after production.
