Accuram 1517-56 Gross-Maier Dressing Forceps is a 20 cm straight dressing forceps with long slender jaws, the shorter of the two lengths in the straight series. The jaws are long, narrow and tapered, carrying coarse transverse serrations along a 26 mm working face. The serration pattern differs between the two jaws, giving an interlocking grip on gauze, swabs and dressing material without requiring heavy handle pressure. The jaw length relative to the shank gives reach into deep or narrow fields while the ring handles stay clear of the working area. The one-piece instrument uses box-joint construction with a three-position ratchet at the shank, holding the jaws closed at a set clamping force so material can be carried without continuous grip. Ring handles are finished with rounded, polished eyes. The brushed satin finish carries the Accuram Instruments name. Ordering note. The Gross-Maier is supplied in two lengths in both jaw profiles: straight as 1517-56 (20 cm) and 1517-58 (26.5 cm); curved as 1517-57 (20 cm) and 1517-59 (26.5 cm). A Foerster dressing forceps is offered separately at 20 cm (1517-50) and 24.5 cm (1517-52). Accuram manufactures to German manufacturing techniques, with technical AutoCAD drawings and Go/No-Go gauges produced on CNC machines used throughout the production cycle to hold tolerances to DIN norms. Instruments pass a boil test and a special surface treatment process that maximises the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
