Accuram 1517-18 Halstead Mosquito Forceps is a 12.5 cm straight haemostatic forceps with 1x2 interlocking teeth. It is the toothed configuration of the Halstead Mosquito, distinct from the plain-serrated version supplied at the same length. The jaws carry fine transverse serrations along a 20.5 mm working length, terminating in a single tooth on one jaw meshing between two on the other. The teeth give positive purchase on tissue that plain serrations would let slip, while the serrations behind them distribute clamping pressure evenly along the jaw. The one-piece instrument uses box-joint construction with a three-position ratchet at the shank, holding the jaws at a set clamping force without continuous hand pressure. Ring handles are finished with rounded, polished eyes for comfort during extended use. The brushed satin finish carries the Accuram Instruments name. Ordering note.
