The Accuram 1517-14 is a Halstead Mosquito haemostatic forceps in the 12.5 cm straight configuration, supplied from the Dental Surgery section of the Accuram range. Mosquito forceps are the finest pattern in the haemostat family. The slender, tapered jaws are fully serrated across their working length to grip small vessels and tissue securely without requiring heavy handle pressure, making the instrument suited to delicate work in confined operative fields. The straight jaw configuration gives direct-line access and is the general-purpose choice where the operator does not need to work around anatomy. The instrument uses a box-joint construction with a ratcheted finger lock at the shank. The ratchet holds the jaws closed at a set clamping force without continuous hand pressure, freeing the operator's hand during a procedure. Ring handles are finished with rounded, polished eyes for comfort during extended use. Accuram manufactures to German manufacturing techniques, with technical AutoCAD drawings and Go/No-Go gauges produced on CNC machines used throughout the production cycle to hold minimal tolerances to DIN norms. Instruments pass a boil test and a special surface treatment process producing a smooth, clean, homogeneous surface that maximises the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
