Accuram 1517-23 Rochester-Pean Forceps is a 14 cm curved haemostatic forceps with fully serrated jaws and no teeth. It is the shortest length in the curved Rochester-Pean series. The jaws carry fine transverse serrations along their full working length, closing to a rounded blunt tip. The serrations run across the jaw rather than along it, so clamping pressure is distributed evenly and the instrument holds without puncturing. The curved jaw profile allows the tip to be worked around structures and into recesses that a straight jaw cannot reach at the same angle of approach. The one-piece instrument uses box-joint construction with a three-position ratchet at the shank, holding the jaws at a set clamping force without continuous hand pressure. Ring handles are finished with rounded, polished eyes for comfort during extended use. The brushed satin finish carries the Accuram Instruments name. Ordering note. The Rochester-Pean is supplied in four lengths in both jaw profiles: curved as 1517-23 (14 cm), 1517-25 (16 cm), 1517-27 (18.5 cm) and 1517-29 (20 cm); straight as 1517-22, 1517-24, 1517-26 and 1517-28 at the same lengths. All are fully serrated without teeth. A separate Rochester-Kocher pattern is offered at the same four lengths with 1x2 interlocking teeth — confirm the pattern name as well as the reference when ordering, as the two are dimensionally similar. Accuram manufactures to German manufacturing techniques, with technical AutoCAD drawings and Go/No-Go gauges produced on CNC machines used throughout the production cycle to hold tolerances to DIN norms. Instruments pass a boil test and a special surface treatment process that maximises the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
