From the manufacturer

Description

Rochester-Pean forceps are a heavier-duty haemostat than the mosquito patterns. The longer, broader jaws and greater overall length give more clamping surface and more leverage, suiting them to larger vessels, thicker tissue bundles and general operative work where a fine mosquito would be underpowered. Transverse serrations run the full length of the 32 mm jaw, distributing grip evenly along the whole clamped surface rather than concentrating it near the tip. The curved jaw is what distinguishes this reference from the straight 1517-24. Curving the working end lets the operator approach a vessel or tissue bundle from an angle and keeps the shanks and the operator's hand clear of the immediate field, improving sightlines during clamping. Where the straight pattern needs direct-line access, the curved version reaches around anatomy and works comfortably in deeper or posterior sites. Most practices stock both and select by approach angle rather than treating one as a substitute for the other. The instrument uses box-joint construction with a ratcheted finger lock at the shank, holding the jaws closed at a set clamping force without continuous hand pressure. Ring handles are finished with rounded, polished eyes for comfort during extended use. Accuram manufactures to German manufacturing techniques, with technical AutoCAD drawings and Go/No-Go gauges produced on CNC machines used throughout the production cycle to hold minimal tolerances to DIN norms. Instruments pass a boil test and a special surface treatment process producing a smooth, clean, homogeneous surface that maximises the natural corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Each lot ships with a Q.C certificate carrying a unique traceability ID.
